James Bond Magazine, Italy - John Allen as OO7 - a possible trip to Italy in the works?

  • August 1st, 2010 10:18 pm

Growing up in a suburb of Pennsylvania, John Allen chose acting as a pastime. His talent was used and enjoyed on stage at a local theater in his hometown. From local theater he eventually auditioned for a professional touring company doing summer stock productions.

Allen gave it all up to own a wicker furniture store and raise a family, later returning to entertainment as a celebrity lookalike, to that of Sean Connery's original James Bond OO7.

Most recently, July 2010, John Allen was approached by reporter, Tony Rasa, for a story in James Bond Magazine, Italy - August publication.  Rasa visited and interviewed John at his home in Delray Beach, Florida. It was easy to notice Allen's car out front, a Mercedes SL 500, with a custom car tag inscribed, 'OO7 JB.'

The already published article, written in Italian, has been translated and a bit of it paraphrased by Allen for the purpose to share with examiner.com.

Much of the interview includes Allen's background and his uncanny look to that of Sean Connery, all of which has been shared either here or in attached links from past examiner.com articles.

It is not every day an American is interviewed for an Italian magazine, although John Allen is no stranger when it comes to the media. This might be a first for Allen, though, receiving an interview 'from Italy.'

Congratulations! to Mr. John Allen for being a part of such an interview in a magazine published all the way from across the pond!  Although, Sir Sean Connery is quite an international man and celebrity himself, not to mention Bond's reputation, so it is really no surprise that someone else with a similar background and look is chosen for such an interview.

John Allen as Connery's OO7

Hats off to you John Allen!  Keep us posted, John, if indeed you get to visit Italy as well.
